Enjoyed your Wildcat blog. I recently met with a small group in Belfast (Ulster Aviation Society) who are restoring a Wildcat FM1. They are a very competent group who have done amazing work on other warbirds but really need the manufacturing plans for this aircraft. Do you know anyone who might have such plans or who might have done restoration work on the FM1 (or any other Wildcat model)?
Hey Bob! Glad you enjoyed the article!
The Grumman Aircraft Company suspended Wildcat production in May of 1943 to concentrate on producing the new F6F Hellcat. The Eastern Aircraft Division of General Motors also built Wildcats as the FM-1 and FM-2. These 2 companies are great places to start or you can contact The Museum of Flight, 9404 East Marginal Way S, Seattle, WA 98108-4097. Phone: 206.764.5720/Fax: 206.764.5707. One of the museums FM2s is currently undergoing restoration at their Restoration Center in Everett, Washington.

Hey Jim! You’re most very welcome & thanks very much!!
Apart from the fact that I am a history geek, I also love cycling. I grew up idolising Greg Lemond. Being Australian, Cadel Evans is a favourite too. I am going to have to pay more attention to your blog ! Lol
Hahaha! Thank you! I cycle with Anna Mears from Australia whenever I’m there, awesome lady and wonderful training competitor.
Thanks very much!!

Hi there. I see that you have been liking the blog posts of someone who is stalking me. Just so that you are aware of what you are supporting – http://wp.me/p3LSyI-JE. Thanks!
I appreciate you telling me, but who? The link doesn’t tell me who. I have a zero tolerance for stalkers and web terrorists.
Thanks!

It’s Andy Kaufman – The Wandering Poet. He has been relentless in his attacks on other bloggers but we’ve had to pull our blog post about him because he is threatening legal action. Not worth beating heads with the nutjob. Anyway, you’ll see it all at his blog. Back to wine for me! Cheers!!
Thanks for the heads up Conrad. I’ll watch him closely. Besides, anyone can threaten legal action, few implement it, but it’s always good to err on the side of caution.
Enjoy your blog very much and thank you for visiting mine!
Highest regards,
Crash
